Hi, I am Chaplain Royal. You are welcome. These posts contain stories, messages, quotes, photos, and many other elements of things of the heart, spirit, life, faith and health. I believe all living beings are beautiful, loved and worthy, just as they are. I believe religion is like a library, take the books you need, leave the rest. The books that each of us need are different; at different times in our life (and that is ok!)

2013 Week 53
HAPPY TUESDAY
2013 is all but a few hours away for those of us here in the US. Tomorrow and next year will be what we make of them. What will yours be?
Travel safe, be well, and may peace, love and compassion be with you. And always from you.

Coincidence
Coincidence?
I was given a wind-chime when mom passed in January. I so cherish the music, noise, and “words” that come from it. Sometimes I will acknowledge it and say “Hi Mom” or have a chat with mom while it “sings.” And then it steps, as if to say, thank you for talking with me.
I was shopping at Bakers and found a young women staring at the coffee section a bit longer than one would normally. I asked if she was ok. When she turned to look at me her eyes had so much pain, discomfort and alone-ness. I asked her if she wanted a hug, and she nodded her head. I gave her a hug. I asked her if I could prayer for her. She began sobbing. I offered a blessing and prayer. When we parted our embrace she looked was glowing, smiling, full, and full of light. She put an item in her basket and walked off.
When making a pastoral care call at a nursing home I stopped to talk to someone whom I don’t know. He seemed a bit agitated, grumpy, and a little mean spirited. I held his hand and listened. He talked for a bit longer than I thought he would. And I stood there every moment. After he was done talking he walked away, took a few steps and then turned around and said, “Thank you for listening to this old man, I needed that.”
God moments? Faith? Spiritual Connection? Karma? Life? Coincidence? For me, I don’t care what, if any, label is used. The truth is truth, without or without a man-made word, conception, or notion.
We are all human beings. We all have needs, wants, and desires. We will get them one way or another, and they all will not be the same way. To me, religion is much the same way. My connection to what I know as Sacred is just that. Sacred. One part of my day I may be praying to God, talking with my mom, thinking of the Buddha, meditating, thinking, or just being. All of which are ways that I deal with circumstances, people, and events in my life.
2013 was a profound year of growing and learning for me. I have been able to let go of many small pieces of baggage I have held for years. I look forward to what 2014 will bring to me. I think back on many events in my entire life. I think what a journey. Or coincidence?

Holiday Chat from Chaplain Royal
Good morning everyone. I hope you are all well and if you are traveling, you are safe. A message I share year-round is you are beautiful, loved, and worthy. You are not alone.
I would like to especially remind us all that these holiday times are much more difficult for some. We don't know what the person next to us has went through, is going through, or is about to go through.
Be mindful, sensitive, and share compassion this season, and every day.
Happy Holidays, Seasons Greetings, and Merry Christmas. May peace, love and compassion be with us all. And always from us.

Wednesday Blog
Sobering thoughts as we enter the holiday season...It is important to remember that not everyone is surrounded by large wonderful families. Some of us have problems during the holidays and sometimes are overcome with great sadness when we remember the loved ones who are not with us. And, many people have no one to spend these times with and are besieged by loneliness.
We all need caring, loving thoughts right now. If I don't see your name, I'll understand. May I ask my friend...s wherever you might be, to kindly copy, paste, and share this status for one hour to give a moment of support to all those who have family problems, health struggles, job issues, worries of any kind and just need to know that someone cares.
Do it for all of us, for nobody is immune. I hope to see this on the walls of all my friends just for moral support. I know some will! I did it for a friend and you can too!
