Do you really need

Intentional.
Conscientious.
Authentic.

While the words do not mean the same, perhaps when used in the same “direction” they could have a similar meaning or effect.  When we are intentional or conscientious living life we often have the ability to make life easier through simplification and reduction.

Starting “simplification” in areas of your life can be as rewarding as it is challenging.  Discipline is paramount!  To do this, ask yourself what do you really need in your life.

Do you really need two TVs?
Do you need two cars?
Do you need 20 pairs of shoes?
Do you need such a large living space?
Do you need the same shirts in different colors?

Are your various acquaintances really valuable? Wouldn't it perhaps be better to focus on less, but really good friendships, for which you would have then more time available? Do you really need the remunerative 14-hour job that takes you to the limit of your capacity? Wouldn't a job with a slightly lower income, but more satisfaction and more time for family, recreation and hobbies, be better.  You should pursue these questions as honestly and consistently as possible.

Intentional.  Conscientious.  Authentic.  How do they apply to your life?  What do they mean to you?

We can be the change we seek in this world, and in ourselves.  One day.  One journey.  One person.  One item at a time.
