2013 Week 30

Each Sunday I share a photo and word that represents what I am grateful for and brief message.

GRATEFUL WORD:
Home.  I have rented the house we are living in for almost 6 years.  When I first moved in there was no grass on the South side of the house, and the house needed a bit of love here and there.  Today, the back yard is fenced in, the back porch room has been painted and new screen and we have lots of outside furniture.  Inside it is a bit of a jungle.  All in all, it IS not just a house we live in, it IS our home.  A home we share with family, friends and those whom we like to be around.  I am thankful and grateful for the resources for us to have this as our home.

ABOUT THE BLOGGER:
Royal D. Bush was born and raised in the Omaha metro area raised in a single parent family, with his Mother Mildred.  His first many years of life were spent in Bellevue, where he and his mother attended church at the First Baptist Church of Bellevue.  Eventually Omaha became home, where as a young adult, Royal began attending various worship services with friends and family before finally calling MCC Omaha his home, where he went on to serve as Minister of Hospitality.

In 2009, Royal founded Inclusive Life Pastoral Services; a Nebraska, nonprofit, multifaith based organization that offers care and services to individuals, couples and families who are not a part of church, organized religion, or have a religious belief.  He is ordained and serves as a Chaplain.  Inclusive Life serves all without exception, religious and nonreligious.  He continues to share his belief and message that “You are beautiful, you are loved and you are worthy, just the way you are.  You are not alone.”

In 2012 he married his partner of five years, Jonathan.  They share a home in the Dundee area of Omaha.  Today, Royal is a member and attends service at the First Unitarian Church of Omaha.  He currently is working on two projects: A 2 hour “You Retreat” that will be offered monthly, at no charge!  It will focus on allowing people to experience themselves in ways perhaps not experienced before or often.  And secondly, he is studying and training for knowledge with Aromatherapy and Essential Oils.

2013 Week 29

Each Sunday I share a photo and word that represents what I am grateful for and brief message.

GRATEFUL WORD:

Relationship. It was around 8 years ago that I first started emailing Jonathan.  I lived in Omaha and he lived in New Hampshire.  Our emails soon turned to texts, letters, and phone calls that all lead to a visit to Omaha for Jonathan.  A few months later he moved her.  Our relationship represents almost 6 years of being together and 1 year being legally married (thank you Iowa.)  We can finish each others thoughts and sayings most of the time, and know with a glace where the other is.  I am reminded of a passage that I read at weddings often, it is not finding the right partner, it is being the right partner.  I have found someone who loves me as hard as I love them.  And for that, I am one of the richest men in the world!  I hope you take time to let someone you love very much know how much you mean to them.  A note, a phone call, a visit means the world.  Love wins!

2013 Week 28

I am sharing one photo each week and one word that represents what I am grateful for.

GRATEFUL WORD:
FAMILY.  Family is given and it is chosen.  Each have their unique beauty, challenges and rewards.  We gathered to celebrate the birthday of a member of our family and it was so great to see 18 unique people gather in community for a night to celebrate, focus and love one person.  Family is awe inspiring.

2013 Week 27

I am sharing one photo each week and one word that represents what I am grateful for.

GRATEFUL WORD: PEACE
Watching the wildlife in the lake was a bit mesmerizing for me.  I got lost watching each little one duck under for food, larger ones disappear for several seconds while going to the bottom.  All of them looking out for one another.  It reminded me of how quickly we can get lost when we let ourselves!  No phones, no schedule, no agenda... just peace.  Peace.  Pass it forward!

2013 Week 26

I am sharing one photo each week and one word that represents what I am grateful for.

GRATEFUL WORD:
Vigilance. On June 26th, the United States Supreme Court cited that DOMA violated Due Process of the Fifth Amendment.  The Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) was created under the leadership of President George W. Bush, aimed at preventing same-sex couples from marrying or being recognized by the Federal Government.  With DOMA being struck down, this clears the way for being one step closer to equality in this country.  A long hard fight it has been so far.  The next step will be to rid the constitutional amendments that states  have specifically preventing same sex marriages, unions, or recognizing ANY type of same-sex relationship.  With about 1/3 of the states offering same-sex marriages, with DOMA gone it is thought that many now will alter or enact laws to provide them in their state.  I am vigilant that in my lifetime equality for all LGBT people will be achieved, and no longer will they have to suffer without the over 1,200 laws and benefits that apply to those who are able to get married.

Further, I understand that same-sex marriage may not fit what some churches, organized religions, and faiths call marriage.  And since we are a secular nation, one without a national religion, I certainly at peace with that.

GRATEFUL WORD:
LIFE-JOURNEY.  I drove from Omaha to Salt Lake City, Utah by way of Ft. Collins Colorado and Ogden, UT to see friends/family and attend a training convention.  Along the way I was reminded of how blessed my life journey is; those in it, around it and from it.

2013 Week 24

I am sharing one photo each week and one word that represents what I am grateful for.

GRATEFUL WORD:
DETERMINATION  No mater what.  Do not give up.  You can do it.
Below is a photo of Jonny, Anita, Beth and myself.  Anita just graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education.  We are so very proud of her.  Despite moving a few times, financial struggles, and just before graduating; having not one but TWO surgeries to implant a pacemaker.  SHE DID IT!  She was determined, and dammit she did it!  Never, ever give up.

2013 Week 23

I am sharing one photo each week and one word that represents what I am grateful for.

GRATEFUL WORD: CONNECTIONS
This weekend I was honored to attend the wedding ceremony of Ben and Maria; friends, mentors and family at First Unitarian Church of Omaha.  It was positively interesting to see the MANY connections I have with other people with Ben and Maria that I didn't know where there.  I was humbled and proud to be asked to share some words from the heart for the two of them during the ceremony.  My heart is full when I see these two together.  Maria brought me to tears when she "sang" her vows to Ben...

Omaha Essential Oils

Young Living Frankincense

Each Wednesday I will share experiences and information about Aromatherapy, Essential Oils and Meditation that I offer at Inclusive Life right here in Omaha at 37th and Leavenworth.

An easy check of many sites, books and references each reveals a similar answer:  Essential oils are concentrated hydrophobic liquids containing volatile aroma compounds from plants.  An oil is "essential" in the sense that it carries a distinctive scent, or essence, of the plant (much like blood is to humans.)

YOUNG LIVING FRANINCENSE
Frankincense is one of the oldest essential oils and is used primarily in meditation to improve inner balance. Considered the “holy anointing oil” in the Middle East, frankincense has been used in religious ceremonies for thousands of years. It was well known during the time of Christ and was one of the gifts given to Christ at his birth. Anciently, the Chinese used frankincense to support overall health.

Today, frankincense is still used worldwide for both its ceremonial and dietary use. Frankincense can be used topically, as a dietary supplement, or diffused.
Primary Benefits

• Increases spiritual awareness and enhances meditation
• Calms and soothes the body and mind
• Comforting properties for mental balance
• Excellent support for skin health*
• Stimulating and elevating aroma

Who Should Use Frankincense Essential Oil?
• Anyone looking to enhance his/her spirituality and meditation
• Those looking to uplift their mood or improved their attitude

Suggested Use
• Dietary: Dilute 1 drop with 4 drops of V-6 Vegetable Oil Complex. Put in a capsule and take 1 capsule before each meal or as desired.
• Topical: Apply 2–4 drops directly to desired area, charkas, and Vita Flex points.
• Aromatic: Inhale directly or diffuse up to 1 hour 3 times daily.

2013 Week 22

I am sharing one photo each week and one word that represents what I am grateful for.

GRATEFUL WORD:
My City.  I know, it is two words.  I love Omaha.  I am proud of my city.  Inclusive Communities hosted their 75th Annual Humanitarian Award Dinner featuring keynote speaker, Newark, NJ Mayor Corey Booker, who is a great human being fighting the good fight and not just a politician.  I was honored to be asked to share the invocation for the evening.  My heart was full.  Jonathan, who attended as my guest, sat with 6 great people, including Mayor Jim Suttle and his wife Deb.  What a delight.  The highlight of the night was seeing our youth come to life and full of light as they shared their experiences of Inclucity Camp...  INCREDIBLE INDEED!

Omaha Essential Oils

Each week I will share experiences and information about Aromatherapy, Essential Oils and Meditation that I offer at Inclusive Life right here in Omaha at 37th and Leavenworth.

Thank you for taking a moment from your busy schedule to visit the website and for keeping an open mind about what could be life-saving information for you and your family. The problem of toxic chemical exposure in American homes is reaching epidemic proportions. Americans are exposed to an average of 210,000 toxic chemicals every year that require medical treatment. These are exposures that can easily be eliminated with a little education and a resolve to make a difference.

CLASSIC Thieves® HOME COLLECTION
Thieves® Home Collection which enables you to replace your current toothpaste, mouthwash, foaming hand soaps, household cleaners, convenient sprays, pocket-size hand sanitizers and you'll also receive an added bonus of a 15 ml. bottle of the actual Thieves® essential oil blend. This aromatic combination of Kosher-certified therapeutic grade Clove, Rosemary, Lemon, Cinnamon Bark and Eucalyptus radiata essential oils will outperform any commercial product in your kitchen, bathroom, laundry or nursery. Application of Thieves® Oil to the bottoms of the feet daily can reduce the occurrences of cold and flu--even ridding your home of them altogether! Many families have written to share of their own successes:

"This is the fourth winter I have used Thieves® when I start getting sick. As a primary math teacher, I have 45 - 50 students daily and am around a lot of sick kids. Since using Thieves®, I have taken off only 1/2 day sick leave in four years. During the winter, I carry Thieves® Spray and Thieves® Lozenges in my purse to use immediately when a sore throat or coughing starts and I love smelling like pumpkin pie!" - Catherine S., Colorado

Throughout recorded history, going back 6,000 years, therapeutic grade essential oils are legendary as the most powerful natural healing substance. From the 15th Century European Plague when the four Thieves® were protected with oils, to the 21st Century with its mutating viruses and never-before-seen Super Bugs, the combination of therapeutic grade oils in theThieves® Blend has stood the test of time:

WHAT MAKES Thieves® SO POWERFUL?
Thieves® Oil is scientifically documented to be highly anti-infectious, antiviral, antibacterial, and antiseptic. It is a safe and natural way to care for your family's health. During an independent study conducted at Weber State University in 1997, this therapeutic blend of oils was proven to kill 99.96% of all airborne bacteria. The Research showed that Thieves® effectively interrupts the life cycle of bacteria and also interferes with the ability of viruses to replicate. That means families no longer need fear outbreaks of MRSA, e-Coli, or Salmonella if they sanitize their home with Thieves® and choose their food selectively while usingThieves® products to wash their hands before preparation; thoroughly clean their fruits and veggies; and diffuse the oils regularly.

Imagine the power of this unique blend applied to the surfaces of your home for a germ-free environment; diffused into the air for greater oxygenation and optimal freshness; and as part of your oral hygiene regimen for healthy teeth and gums. Imagine the assurance of keeping your hands free from airborne viruses in the marketplace or your children at school. The Thieves® hand sanitizer is without equal--and safe enough for little ones because there is no alcohol. Remember--it's more than just "greening the environment" -- It's a proactive choice to protect your family from tens of thousands of deadly exposures every day. I'm here to help you start the journey.
