2013 Week 30

Each Sunday I share a photo and word that represents what I am grateful for and brief message.

GRATEFUL WORD:
Home.  I have rented the house we are living in for almost 6 years.  When I first moved in there was no grass on the South side of the house, and the house needed a bit of love here and there.  Today, the back yard is fenced in, the back porch room has been painted and new screen and we have lots of outside furniture.  Inside it is a bit of a jungle.  All in all, it IS not just a house we live in, it IS our home.  A home we share with family, friends and those whom we like to be around.  I am thankful and grateful for the resources for us to have this as our home.

ABOUT THE BLOGGER:
Royal D. Bush was born and raised in the Omaha metro area raised in a single parent family, with his Mother Mildred.  His first many years of life were spent in Bellevue, where he and his mother attended church at the First Baptist Church of Bellevue.  Eventually Omaha became home, where as a young adult, Royal began attending various worship services with friends and family before finally calling MCC Omaha his home, where he went on to serve as Minister of Hospitality.

In 2009, Royal founded Inclusive Life Pastoral Services; a Nebraska, nonprofit, multifaith based organization that offers care and services to individuals, couples and families who are not a part of church, organized religion, or have a religious belief.  He is ordained and serves as a Chaplain.  Inclusive Life serves all without exception, religious and nonreligious.  He continues to share his belief and message that “You are beautiful, you are loved and you are worthy, just the way you are.  You are not alone.”

In 2012 he married his partner of five years, Jonathan.  They share a home in the Dundee area of Omaha.  Today, Royal is a member and attends service at the First Unitarian Church of Omaha.  He currently is working on two projects: A 2 hour “You Retreat” that will be offered monthly, at no charge!  It will focus on allowing people to experience themselves in ways perhaps not experienced before or often.  And secondly, he is studying and training for knowledge with Aromatherapy and Essential Oils.

2013 Week 29

Each Sunday I share a photo and word that represents what I am grateful for and brief message.

GRATEFUL WORD:

Relationship. It was around 8 years ago that I first started emailing Jonathan.  I lived in Omaha and he lived in New Hampshire.  Our emails soon turned to texts, letters, and phone calls that all lead to a visit to Omaha for Jonathan.  A few months later he moved her.  Our relationship represents almost 6 years of being together and 1 year being legally married (thank you Iowa.)  We can finish each others thoughts and sayings most of the time, and know with a glace where the other is.  I am reminded of a passage that I read at weddings often, it is not finding the right partner, it is being the right partner.  I have found someone who loves me as hard as I love them.  And for that, I am one of the richest men in the world!  I hope you take time to let someone you love very much know how much you mean to them.  A note, a phone call, a visit means the world.  Love wins!

I am sharing one photo each week and one word that represents what I am grateful for.

GRATEFUL WORD:
FAMILY.  Family is given and it is chosen.  Each have their unique beauty, challenges and rewards.  We gathered to celebrate the birthday of a member of our family and it was so great to see 18 unique people gather in community for a night to celebrate, focus and love one person.  Family is awe inspiring.

Omaha Essential Oils

Each Wednesday I share information and updates about Aromatherapy, Omaha Essential Oils, and Meditation that is offered with Omaha Essential Oils at Inclusive Life (37th and Leavenworth.)

An easy check of many sites, books and references each reveals a similar answer:  Essential oils are concentrated hydrophobic liquids containing volatile aroma compounds from plants.  Oil is "essential" in the sense that it carries a distinctive scent, or essence, of the plant (much like blood is to humans.)

It is important to know that there are three grades of Essential Oils; Therapeutic, Perfume, and Food grade.  Most of what you would find in retail health food stores, retail stores and shops is perfume or food grade oils.  They will not offer the same results, benefits or aromatherapy as Therapeutic grade oils.

Young Living is the only company in the United States that produces therapeutic grade oils from seed to seal.  They own 7 farms in 3 countries and distill and package the oils and products themselves.

I would like to share our latest three uses for essential oils.  1) last week Jonathan was in the alley cleaning up weeds and got into some poison ivy/oak (not sure) within minutes his arm swelled, was read, and painful and itched.  Normally we would apply calamine lotion and wait a several days.  I instantly grabbed the Lavender Essential Oil and applied it.  Within a minute or two you could see a noticeable difference.  Two more applications (later that night, and the next morning) and his arm was back to normal.  I felt good about using a natural, safe, non-toxic remedy that worked!

I had developed a cough on my way back from my trip, I think I picked up a summer-cold.  I was coughing and wheezing, and not sleeping.  I used a table spoon of honey and mixed it with peppermint, lemon, orange and frankincense.  Two more doses and my cough was gone and so was my cold.

Lavender has helped me sleep better. For the last year I have not slept through the night. I always get up at 2-3am and stay up for hours.  After using lavender I sleep right through the night.  If I do get up to use the restroom I fall right back asleep.  Again, a toxic-drug-free way to get rest feel better, and treat my body with respect.

Join me each month (beginning in July) as Omaha Essential Oils at Inclusive Life, Offers Information Café!  A chance for you to learn, ask questions and experiment with the oils yourself.  The first one is scheduled for the last Sunday of July at 2pm.  3622 Leavenworth.  There is NO cost and NO obligation for this FREE Café!  FREE Zyto Compass Health Assessment Scans will be available at the July Café.

2013 Week 27

I am sharing one photo each week and one word that represents what I am grateful for.

GRATEFUL WORD: PEACE
Watching the wildlife in the lake was a bit mesmerizing for me.  I got lost watching each little one duck under for food, larger ones disappear for several seconds while going to the bottom.  All of them looking out for one another.  It reminded me of how quickly we can get lost when we let ourselves!  No phones, no schedule, no agenda... just peace.  Peace.  Pass it forward!

The sense of smell and of taste are key to successful weight management. Slique™ Essential Oil Blend, with its exotic aroma and enticing citrus flavors, appeals to both senses and provides health benefits when added to the Slique™ Tea. But it is the individual oils contained within Slique™ Essence that, by their nature, promote the release of unwanted pounds.

The Citrus Oils of Slique™ Essence. The juice from citrus fruit is beneficial in ways that differ from the oil of the citrus. Citrus oils are not distilled from the pulp, but from the zest (peel) of the fruit. In addition to alkalizing the body, the citrus oils can also be used in massage for releasing petrochemicals from fat cells and removing unwanted cellulite. Slique™ Essence Blend contains a variety of Young Living's therapeutic grade, Kosher-certified citrus oils:

Grapefruit oil
  • A natural diuretic (supports kidney function)
  • Beneficial for helping to dissolve cellulite
  • Helps to detoxify lymphatic system (where edema fluids build up)
Tangerine oil
  • Helps digest fat
  • Supports dissolution of cellulite
  • Counteracts water retention (edema)
  • Hydrates cells when taken internally (Report from Nova Vita Young Living Clinic, Ecuador)
  • Helps calm nervous system (fights against cravings and food addictions)
Lemon oil
  • Oxygenates cells for optimal weight management
  • Beneficial for helping to dissolve cellulite
  • Natural detoxifier for digestive trouble (including food poisoning)
Spearmint oil
  • Supports Glandular System (some forms of obesity are glandular-related)
  • Promotes healthy weight maintenance
  • Helps stimulate Thyroid function (governor for the body's metabolism)
  • Encourages better digestion for greater food absorption
Ocotea oil
  • Promotes pancreatic function to balance blood sugar levels
  • Encourages weight loss by helping to balance the pituitary and endocrine systems
Stevia Leaf Extract
  • A dietary supplement that effectively regulates blood sugar. Especially supportive to people with diabetes and hypoglycemia.
  • Wonderful aid in weight loss because it contains no calories and increases glucose tolerance, while inhibiting glucose absorption.
  • Regular ingestion decreases sugar cravings and the desire for fatty foods.

Peppermint Oil
In addition to citrus oils contained in Slique™ Essence Blend, science has shown that other essential oils promote healthy weight loss, too. Dr. Alan Hirsch, M.D. discovered during his studies at the University of Chicago that inhalation of therapeutic grade peppermint oil satisfies the brain's satiety center where food cravings originate. His research revealed that peppermint oil stimulates the hypothalamus gland to curb appetite. Peppermint oil also improves--even restores the sense of "taste" by stimulating the trigeminal nerve.
NOTE: Peppermint Oil is included with your Young Living Start Living wholesale membership!

Idaho Balsam Fir Oil
When inhaled, the unique constituents in this distinctive therapeutic oil enhance the production of hGH (human growth hormone) and reduce deadly levels of cortisol in the body. Excessive cortisol levels hold fat in the cellular structure, making it difficult to lose weight. hGH slows the aging process which is conducive to healthier weight levels.
If you're ready to get started on your exciting journey to maximum health and vitality with the Slique™ Essence Weight Management System, call or email me. My contact information is included below.

2013 Week 26

I am sharing one photo each week and one word that represents what I am grateful for.

GRATEFUL WORD:
Vigilance. On June 26th, the United States Supreme Court cited that DOMA violated Due Process of the Fifth Amendment.  The Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) was created under the leadership of President George W. Bush, aimed at preventing same-sex couples from marrying or being recognized by the Federal Government.  With DOMA being struck down, this clears the way for being one step closer to equality in this country.  A long hard fight it has been so far.  The next step will be to rid the constitutional amendments that states  have specifically preventing same sex marriages, unions, or recognizing ANY type of same-sex relationship.  With about 1/3 of the states offering same-sex marriages, with DOMA gone it is thought that many now will alter or enact laws to provide them in their state.  I am vigilant that in my lifetime equality for all LGBT people will be achieved, and no longer will they have to suffer without the over 1,200 laws and benefits that apply to those who are able to get married.

Further, I understand that same-sex marriage may not fit what some churches, organized religions, and faiths call marriage.  And since we are a secular nation, one without a national religion, I certainly at peace with that.

Omaha Essential Oils

Each Wednesday I will share information and updates about Aromatherapy, Omaha Essential Oils, and Meditation that is offered at Inclusive Life (37th and Leavenworth.)

I just returned from Salt Lake City for the Young Living Convention.  It was amazing to be with over 3,500 people who represent the Young Living products in over 5 countries!

NEW FACEBOOK PAGE.  www.facebook.com/omahaessentialoils New fresh content added three times each week.  New photos and great updates.

We will be offering Essential Oil Cafe's each month at Inclusive Life.  A chance for you to experience with your own hands, nose, body and spirit how essential oils can help you live a more healthier and less toxic life.

Speaking of essential oils... lets chat about Lavender...  The ONE essential oil that everyone should have.

Aching Muscles.  If you’ve spent a back-breaking afternoon in the garden, jump into a lavender bath to soothe aches & pains away. Apply Epsom salts & a few drops of Lavender Oil to the bath and soak away the tension.
Acne.  Lavender is one of the most valuable oils for the treatment of acne, according to aromatherapists. “It inhibits the bacteria that cause the skin infection, helps to rebalance the over-secretion of sebum, which the bacteria thrive on, and reduce scarring”. Add a few drops of lavender oil to a plain cream sold by chemists and use as a moisturizer or cleanser.
Bugs & Bacteria.  French laboratory studies in the early 20th century showed that lavender is a powerful antibacterial in dilutions of 5 per cent or less it is lethal to bacteria that cause typhoid, TB & diphtheria. Combined with Lemon Balm, for its clinically tested anti-viral properties.
Burns (minor).  After you have cooled the area by immersing it in running cold water for 5 minutes, gently stroke on neat lavender oil. Pain relief is almost immediate, and burn usually heals without scarring.
Cuts & Wounds.  Apply lavender oil to sooth pain, prevent bacterial infection and aid scar-free healing. Apply neat.

I am sharing one photo each week and one word that represents what I am grateful for.

GRATEFUL WORD:
LIFE-JOURNEY.  I drove from Omaha to Salt Lake City, Utah by way of Ft. Collins Colorado and Ogden, UT to see friends/family and attend a training convention.  Along the way I was reminded of how blessed my life journey is; those in it, around it and from it.
