Renewal

“It is the flow of nature, An eternal decay and renewal.”  Dying.  Death.  Decisions.  All words that easier said than talked about today.  Let’s talk about it tomorrow.  We too often forget that there are not an unlimited amount of tomorrow’s, and despite our attempt to hang on tomorrow comes faster than we appreciate sometimes.  Plan your tomorrow…today so no one has to guess what you would have wanted.

People normally do not plan to fail, they fail to plan.  Making end of life decisions are easier to make when your mind, health and body are centered and in good condition.  It does get harder as you get closer to the end to start facing your morality.  And it is even more difficult to do so when you are in crisis or when your mind, body and spirit are not centered or in good condition.

There are many resources to help you with end of life planning.  If you live in or near the Omaha, Council Bluffs area we would be happy to meet with you as an individual, a couple or as a family to discuss end of life planning, choices and help create documents to support that planning.

Who can individuals, couples and families turn to when they need care & services traditionally found by a place of worship?  US!  We are Inclusive Life, and we serve all without exception.  We know that up to 70% of the population in America does not attend worship on a regular basis, so we are here to provide care & services to everyone regardless of they attend worship or not.  Wedding Officiants-Premarital & Couples Coaching-Funeral Ministers-and much more…

Time for change...

If you mess up, fess up!  A great lesson that we teach children.  A great example that those who are campaigning for political office right now have forgotten!  I write each day with consistent focus of healing, life, light and love.  Although my focus today has a slant, it too IS about healing, life, light and love.

2012 is a big year for elections in the US.  We will vote to retain President Obama or elect a new President along with local representatives.   In the US they use emails, text messages, magazine ads, newspaper articles, commercials and televised town hall meetings to campaign.  I have been watching many of those who are running.

My views are based on what I believe to be true for ALL of those running not just the ones that I would like to see “win.”  After reading, listening and watching polished remarks from those in left, middle and right; those who are blue, green, red and… Men and women,  I am left starved!  I am hungry for an elected representative to step up and say “WE” (I!)  have made mistakes that “we” (I!) need to fix.  Year after year, and now day after day I keep hearing excuses, examples of how things are bad and most importantly blame.
Giving blame for the condition of most every US issue/problem to the sitting President is simply not accurate.  In addition it tells me right up front you are not worthy of consideration of my vote and if I had my “magic wand”  I would not have allowed you to even run for office!

Represent means to serve especially in a legislative body by delegated authority usually resulting from election, having a specified character or quality <friend>, to give one's impression and judgment of: state in a manner intended to affect action.
How would we react to a statement like I voted on this and that was a mistake.  Or we I do enough.  I need to…  What should I do?  Will you help me?  (I am sure we would say they are not strong enough and vote them out… )

George H. W. Bush asked Americans to help build "a kinder and gentler nation" during his Inaugural Address.  He pledged "a moment rich with promise" to use American strength as "a force for good."  I remember him talking about being one of those thousands points of light.  I hope through all of the polished, rehearsed speech’s, talks and words that at some point we actually get to the business of healing this country, helping those who need it, keeping our country strong, safe and healthy!

Thank Goodness it is Monday (TGIM)

I long, as does every human being, to be at home wherever I find myself.  What is your favorite spot at home?  Favorite chair, room?  Place on the deck or lawn?  Beth and her wife Anita share living space in our home.  Although we all live under the same roof, I emailed Beth a while back to say that “I missed her.”  It seemed that we had more contact when they lived in another city than we were having living under the same roof.

Last week Beth and I made time to catch up with each other.  For me, she is a mentor of sorts.  A sister sometimes.  A mother at times.  An authentic, special and close friend always.  I missed all the ways I felt by being plugged into her life.  I sent her a text message today “I no longer miss you.”  (she said she had to read it twice to get it.)   That made me smile.

Commit to change the important things in your life.  Today.
